Generate graphics automatically from Tally submissions
Tally sends multiple-choice answers as option UUIDs, which a naive integration will print straight onto your artwork. Drawtab resolves them to the option text you actually wrote, and keys every answer by its label so mappings survive form edits.
What sets it off
Someone submits one of your Tally forms.
What you get
- Certificates
- Event passes
- Welcome cards
- Submission receipts
Setting it up
One-time setup. After this it runs on its own.
Create a Tally pipeline
Pick Tally in Drawtab Pipelines and link the template each response should render into.
Add the webhook in Tally
Open your form → Integrations → Webhooks, and paste the pipeline’s trigger URL.
Set a signing secret
Add a signing secret on the same Tally screen and paste it into your Drawtab pipeline.
What you can put on the graphic
These are the paths you type into a template hotspot. Once a pipeline has received its first real record, the Sample Payload inspector shows your own data and you can click a value to fill the field.
| Field path | What it holds |
|---|---|
answers.name | Auto-detected name answer — always present |
answers.email | Auto-detected email answer — always present |
answers.<question_label> | Any answer, keyed by a slug of its label |
answers_by_key.<key> | The same answer keyed by Tally’s stable field key |
data.responseId | Unique response ID — good QR content |
data.formName | Name of the form that was submitted |
How Drawtab knows the data is real
Tally signs each delivery with a Tally-Signature header — a base64 HMAC-SHA256 of the payload. Drawtab checks the raw body first and also accepts the re-serialised form Tally’s own documentation describes, so a genuine webhook is never rejected on a technicality.
Every pipeline also has its own secret trigger URL, which can be rotated at any time without touching your template or mappings.
Common questions
Why do other tools show a long ID instead of my answer?
Because Tally sends choice answers as option UUIDs and expects you to resolve them against the options list in the same payload. Drawtab does that resolution for you.
Are file uploads supported?
Yes. An uploaded file resolves to its URL, and image uploads are detected automatically so they can fill a photo hotspot.
